About Us
Coimbatore Human Rights Forum (CHRF) is a Registered Public Charitable Trust under Indian law. It is a self-funded organisation and does not accept any financial contribution from any government or governmental agencies. Founded in the year 1992, it has taken up issues relating to the Dalits (under-privileged people), Women, Refugees, etc.
CHRF attended various Conferences and Workshops on human rights organised by the United Nations and reputed International human rights organisations at the international and South Asian level. The experience gained through these meeting were translated into practice at the grass-root level in the true spirit of ‘ Think Globally and Act Locally ‘.
Human Rights Workshops for law-enforcement personnel like Police and Para-military forces, Students, and villagers, Human Rights Education through publications and holding Seminars and encouraging use of law for the protection and promotion of human rights are but few of the activities CHRF is currently involved in.
